The Egyptian Demon's Keeper is not just a playful take on conventions. It is actually a "real" story, imagine that. There is actually a pretty coherent story line here, the setting is pretty well drawn, and the characters are adorable. While this may be a short story, therefore, it is a very entertaining one that tries to be and succeeds very well in being different and fun at the same time. -- Mrs. Giggles
Ciar Cullen has created a marvelous adventure, with a delicious hero and a strong heroine in Kasdeya and Eliza. The interaction between the two, when Eliza thinks he is a figment of her heat stroke is hilarious. The gradual acceptance that she is not insane, and that she has a destiny far beyond what she expected is a delight to read. -- Long and Short Reviews
The Egyptian Demon's Keeper is an exotic slice of love and destiny. Eliza is stubborn and independent. Kasdeya is old fashioned and single minded. The battle of the wills between the two is highly entertaining. Deumos is a delicious villainess, oozing evil and a sexuality even Eliza appreciates. All the while, the clock is ticking towards disaster, ratcheting up the drama. The Egyptian Demon's Keeper is a keeper for readers looking for a unique paranormal romance. -- Fallen Angel Reviews
Love -- the real thing. And complicated as hell.
Archeologist Eliza Schneider assumes her meeting with an exotic stranger in the Egyptian desert was a heat-induced hallucination, until he materializes in New York. She has to give the tall, handsome Egyptian high marks for originality with his pick-up line: they are fated to save the world together. The master/servant thing goes a long way toward sweeping her off her feet, but it is easier to believe he is just another in her long line of poor romantic choices.
Kasdeya, the Fifth Satan, waited eons for his Keeper to find her way to his tomb amongst the ancient ruins. He only has a limited time to convince Eliza that her role is critical to help defeat the loathsome Deumos, a female demon who has laid her claim to bearing his child -- a child that will bring down mortals.
Trouble is, Eliza does not even believe Kasdeya is real. If he cannot convince her he is not an illusion -- and neither is their love -- Deumos will win.
